Synopsis
Zhang Ping, an impoverished orphan from a rural area, moves to Beijing to take the civil service exam but ends up selling noodles on the street. Despite his unsophisticated manners, he is sharp and inquisitive, naturally skilled at solving puzzles. Meanwhile, Lan Jue, a well-mannered minister with a hidden past, is investigating a case. Their paths cross, and despite initial misunderstandings, Zhang Ping helps Lan Jue solve it, inadvertently learning his secret.
