Synopsis
In August 1949, Wu Shi, who was supposed to welcome the liberation in Fuzhou, was suddenly appointed by Chiang Kai-shek as the Deputy Minister of National Defense of the National Government. In order to obtain more intelligence, Wu Shi resolutely went to Taiwan to take office according to the instructions of the party organization and used his work convenience to provide the East China Bureau of the Communist Party of China with important information, such as the changes in the troop strength on Kinmen Island and the mobilization of the national army in the Southwest Campaign.
